Legal
Copyright and permissions
We publish original travel writing and use third-party material only when a licence, permission or legal exception supports that use.
Photography and media
Displayed travel photographs have a recorded open licence or written permission. Each credit identifies the creator, source, licence and the resizing or presentation changes we make. Our complete register is on the photo credits page.
We accept only terms that permit commercial reuse and the changes needed for web presentation. NonCommercial, NoDerivatives, editorial-use-only and unrecorded website or press-gallery images are excluded. If permission cannot be verified, the page shows a placeholder or a plain link to the owner’s gallery.
An image appearing on a hotel, attraction or publisher website does not by itself permit us to republish it. Where permission is not recorded, we link to the owner’s gallery instead of displaying the image.
Community contributions
Contributors keep ownership of their posts and experience reports. They give the site only the licence described in our terms. We do not turn a contribution into an editorial guide without the separate permission requested in the contribution form.
Report a rights concern
If you believe material on this site infringes your rights, email support@chinatravelselect.com with the page URL, the work concerned, evidence that you own or represent the rights, and a way to contact you. We will preserve the report, review the material promptly and remove or restrict it while a credible claim is investigated.
Please identify the original work, the exact China Travel Select URL, the basis of your ownership or authority, the use you want reviewed, and a signed statement that the information is accurate. We may ask the contributor for evidence, preserve relevant records and restore material only if the rights issue is resolved. Repeated knowing infringement can lead to account suspension or removal.
Software notices
China Travel Select includes open-source components. Their licence texts and package versions are kept in the third-party software notices bundled with the website and app.
