Yangtze: the two top suites on Century Victory
On a river where the scenery is on one side at a time and the ship is full, the difference between categories is balcony depth, dining room and whether someone handles the shore excursions for you. The top two suites are a genuinely different product rather than a renamed standard cabin.

Century Victory entered service in 2022 and runs the Chongqing-Yichang Three Gorges route. It carries up to about 650 guests in cabins that are mostly 26 sqm with a balcony. Above them sit the 71 sqm Victory Suite on deck 5 and the 85 sqm Presidential Suite on deck 6. Those two are the only cabins with a bathtub and the only ones with butler service; they also get room service, dining and show reservations made for them, and a guide and shuttle arranged at each shore stop.
The access, explained
No special access to anything ashore. The suite buys space, a bathtub, a butler and the Pavilion VIP restaurant. Note where the tiers actually break: the 33 sqm Executive Suite and 34 sqm Family Suites are the same 26 sqm-class room with more floor, no bathtub and no butler, and they already get the VIP restaurant, executive lounge and free laundry that mid-tier marketing leans on. Suite-category descriptions also conflict between resellers, with one listing a 559 sq ft suite the operator's own cabin page does not show.
Planning the details
How to arrange it. Through a Chinese river-cruise agency or the operator; the two top suites are single cabins each and go early, so book several months ahead, more for April-May and September-October. Downstream Chongqing to Yichang is three nights, upstream four. No permit.
When to go. April to June and September to November. Water levels and haze are worst in midsummer, and the gorges are often in cloud.
Ask for written confirmation of the date, duration, guide language, transport, admission and cancellation terms. Any restricted access must be confirmed by the venue.

Good to know
Ask for the deck plan and the square-metre figure in writing, because the word suite is applied on this river to rooms that are a standard cabin with a sofa. Also be clear what the cruise is: a comfortable two-to-four-night transit with coach excursions to Shibaozhai, the Lesser Gorges and the dam, not a wilderness trip. If the Three Gorges are the only reason you are going, two nights is enough.
