Songtsam's original 23-room lodge in a Tibetan village near Songzanlin Monastery, with smaller-scale rooms and a more intimate, house-like character than the neighbouring Linka retreat.
Choose the Lodge when the small-property atmosphere matters more than resort facilities. It is the more personal start or finish to a lodge circuit and works particularly well for travellers already using Songtsam guides and transfers.

A deluxe room with the clearest monastery or valley aspect. Room layouts vary in a small converted property, so ask about stairs, bathroom arrangement and oxygen support rather than booking by category name alone.

A small lodge restaurant serves Tibetan and Yunnan food. Choice is naturally narrower than at the Linka, so communicate allergies and dietary needs before arrival.

Before you decide
The 23-room scale also means fewer facilities, fewer dining alternatives and less insulation from group movements. Older lodge details may feel rustic beside newer Songtsam properties. It is a poor choice for anyone expecting the anonymity or service depth of an international resort.
