What to order

Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

  • Yak momo dumplings (牦牛肉包子/藏式饺子)
  • Curry with naan (咖喱配馕)
  • Thukpa noodle soup (藏面/吐巴)
  • Sweet tea (甜茶)

What it actually tastes like

Yak meat is leaner, darker and stronger-tasting than beef, with a faint muttony edge. The Nepali side of the menu is mild by Indian standards. Butter tea, if you order it, is salty rather than sweet and tastes like a thin, savoury broth with a dairy film — order sweet tea instead if that sounds unbearable.

Allergens in this kitchen

dairygluten/wheattree nutssoyegg

This is the kitchen, not one dish. Woks, fryers, blanching water and utensils are shared in almost every Chinese restaurant, so for a serious allergy treat the whole premises as the unit rather than ordering around it.
