Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

What it actually tastes like

Matsutake is served in very thin slices in a clear broth and tastes faintly of pine and spice — mild, not funky. Wild mushrooms outside matsutake must be cooked right through.
