A taste of Lijiang

Zewa Rice Noodles, Yunnan Snack Collection

则瓦米线·云南小吃集合

A snack-counter format in the old town assembling the Yunnan small dishes in one place: rice noodles, grilled rushan, baba flatbread, cold jelly. The practical answer to breakfast or a light lunch in Dayan, where most restaurants only do full shared meals.

What to order

Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

  • Yunnan rice noodles (云南米线)
  • Lijiang baba flatbread (丽江粑粑)
  • Grilled rushan milk fan (烤乳扇)
  • Cold rice jelly (凉粉)

What it actually tastes like

Baba is a thick, layered wheat flatbread, either sweet or savoury with ham — heavier and oilier than it looks. Rushan is dairy, which is unusual in China and worth flagging if you are lactose intolerant.

Allergens in this kitchen

dairygluten/wheatsoypeanutsesame

This is the kitchen, not one dish. Woks, fryers, blanching water and utensils are shared in almost every Chinese restaurant, so for a serious allergy treat the whole premises as the unit rather than ordering around it.
