A taste of Shanghai

Fu 1015

福1015

The Fu group's villa on Yuyuan Road, fifteen private rooms in a historic house done out in old Shanghai style. Where Fu 1088 is a la carte, 1015 leans on two set menus, one of benbang classics and one that follows the season. If you want one special Shanghainese dinner and the choice between the Fu addresses is paralysing, 1015 is the easier decision because the kitchen makes it for you.

Why come here

A place worth making time for

Michelin one star 2026 (Shanghai) for Shanghainese cuisine.

The house favourites

What to order

Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

  • Sauteed river shrimp with crabmeat and crab roe (蟹粉河虾仁)
  • Red-braised pork belly (红烧肉)
  • Minced date cake (枣泥糕)
  • Soy ice cream with fried dough sticks (豆浆冰淇淋配油条)

What it actually tastes like

Sweet-soy benbang flavours throughout, including in dishes a foreign diner would expect to be savoury. River shrimp and crab are the signature luxuries and both are shellfish. Hairy crab dominates the autumn menu. The soy ice cream with fried dough is deliberately odd and worth trying.

Allergens in this kitchen

shellfishfishsoygluten/wheateggdairy

This is the kitchen, not one dish. Woks, fryers, blanching water and utensils are shared in almost every Chinese restaurant, so for a serious allergy treat the whole premises as the unit rather than ordering around it.
