A taste of Shenzhen

Gao San Jie Tofu Pudding Shop

高三姐豆花店

A small Sichuan-Chongqing rice shop in the Meilin urban village in Futian, open about 16 years. The draw is a bowl of silky tofu pudding with rice plus wok-fried Sichuan dishes at village prices. Cheapest and most spice-forward of the Bib entries.

Why come here

A place worth making time for

Michelin Bib Gourmand 2026.

The house favourites

What to order

Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

  • Sichuan tofu pudding with rice (豆花饭)
  • Stir-fried pork kidney (爆炒腰花)
  • Sichuan boiled beef (水煮牛肉)

What it actually tastes like

Offal (pork kidney), numbing Sichuan pepper and heavy chilli oil. Boiled beef arrives under a slick of hot oil; ask for less spicy (少辣) if you are cautious.

Allergens in this kitchen

soygluten/wheatsesame

This is the kitchen, not one dish. Woks, fryers, blanching water and utensils are shared in almost every Chinese restaurant, so for a serious allergy treat the whole premises as the unit rather than ordering around it.
