Why stay here
214 rooms and suites on floors 19 to 29 of the Hangzhou Centre tower in the north of the city, by the Grand Canal. It is Four Seasons' second Hangzhou hotel and the opposite of its West Lake resort: a high-rise city hotel with 270-degree views over the skyline and the canal.
The best modern city hotel in Hangzhou, and the one to choose if you are here for business, for the Grand Canal, or because you want a bathroom and a bed that are new rather than charming. Guest scores on comfort and cleanliness are among the highest in the city, and it gives you Four Seasons service without a 40-minute drive to dinner.

Rooms worth asking for
A corner Premier Suite facing the Grand Canal. The city-facing rooms look at towers; the corners are the reason to pay the premium.
Note the exact room or suite name before opening the booking provider, along with any connecting-room, step-free access or celebration requests.
Dining & the evening ahead
Hotel restaurants and a bar on the podium and high floors. Competent; nothing starred, and nothing you would travel for.
Request restaurant availability alongside your stay. Tasting menus, private dining and dietary arrangements should be confirmed separately.
Spa, pool & wellbeing
A spa, pool and gym on the upper floors. Standard for the brand.
Ask which facilities are included with your room, whether treatments require advance reservations, and whether any seasonal closures affect your stay.

It is a tower in a mixed-use complex on the wrong side of town for sightseeing: West Lake is 20-30 minutes away and there is nothing in walking distance but a mall. It holds no Michelin Keys while the West Lake sister hotel holds two. Guests have flagged cleanliness, service consistency and parking or delivery problems, and the lift lobbies run notably cold. TripAdvisor's own ratings for it are inconsistent between pages, 4.0 on one and 4.8 on another, so read individual reviews rather than the score. At 214 rooms it runs corporate business and feels like it.
Location. Hangzhou Centre, northern Hangzhou, by the Grand Canal. Roughly 20-30 minutes to West Lake; good for the station and the business districts.
