A 190-room-and-villa beachfront resort designed by Jean-Michel Gathy and Bill Bensley around gardens, courtyards and a long formal water axis. It sits at Tufu Bay in Lingshui County, east of Sanya's Haitang Bay hotel strip, with accommodation ranging from large rooms to pool villas, a mansion and penthouse.
This is the most private full-service resort in the greater Sanya market and the best fit for a stay where architecture, gardens and service matter more than access to attractions. Its smaller room count and distance from the main hotel strip make it calmer than the large Haitang Bay properties.

Rooms worth asking for
A one-bedroom pool villa if privacy is the point of the journey. Sea-view rooms are large and better value, but ask whether the assigned aspect clears the gardens and where it sits relative to the central facilities.

Before you decide
The resort is outside Sanya city and beyond most of Haitang Bay, so every meal, excursion and airport transfer requires planning. The beach can be rough and seasonally unsuitable for swimming, as on much of this exposed coast. The formal scale that looks calm in photographs also means long walks or buggy rides, and English-language independent recent reviews are thinner than for the major brands in Haitang Bay.
Location. Tufu Bay, Lingshui County, immediately east of Haitang Bay. Treat it as greater Sanya rather than central Sanya; airport and attraction transfers are long.
