Why stay here
A 73-room hotel occupying the upper floors of the WF Central development on Wangfujing, the pedestrian shopping street east of the Forbidden City. It opened in 2019 after a long delay and is the smallest of Beijing's big-brand city hotels, which is the point: rooms are large and the public spaces are not crowded.
The best combination in Beijing of a genuinely international service standard and a position you can walk from. You are 15 minutes on foot from the Forbidden City's east side, and the hotel has the city's best private Forbidden City view. One Michelin Key.

Rooms worth asking for
Any of the extra-large categories facing the Forbidden City. Guests and Forbes both note that some rooms are considerably more spacious and have the palace view; the difference between those and a standard city-facing room is larger here than at most hotels.
Note the exact room or suite name before opening the booking provider, along with any connecting-room, step-free access or celebration requests.
Dining & the evening ahead
MO Bar and a Cantonese restaurant in the hotel, with the WF Central mall's restaurants downstairs. The in-house food is good, not a destination; the convenience is the value.
Request restaurant availability alongside your stay. Tasting menus, private dining and dietary arrangements should be confirmed separately.
Spa, pool & wellbeing
The spa is one of the larger hotel spas in central Beijing and is consistently well reviewed. Worth a treatment on a day you have walked the Forbidden City end to end.
Ask which facilities are included with your room, whether treatments require advance reservations, and whether any seasonal closures affect your stay.

Value scores lower than everything else in its guest reviews, and extras add up fast. It is inside a luxury mall, so arrival and the lobby feel like a shopping centre rather than a hotel, and the ground-level approach on Wangfujing is a tourist pedestrian street with the crowds that implies. There is no outdoor space of its own beyond the terrace.
Location. Wangfujing, Dongcheng, inside WF Central. Walking distance to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen and the National Museum.
