Why stay here
353 rooms on the upper floors of a tower on Shuncheng Avenue, opened in 2013 on a site next to Tianfu Square. Entry-level rooms start at about 50 square metres, which makes them among the largest standard rooms in the city. The spa, designed by Hirsch Bedner Associates, has ten treatment rooms including two couples' suites.
The most consistently executed full-service luxury hotel in Chengdu, and the only one with both a serious spa and a serious Chinese restaurant under one roof. If you want the stay to be uncomplicated rather than characterful, this is the one. It scored 97 points in La Liste's 2026 Top Hotels ranking.

Rooms worth asking for
A Club Level room on a high floor. The club lounge here does real work — all-day food, afternoon tea, evening drinks — and the differential over a standard room is usually small.

The interiors are 2013 and read that way: heavy marble, dark wood, a formality that some find dated rather than classic. A dress code is enforced in parts of the hotel. The Tianfu Square address is central for business but the immediate streets are office blocks, so there is nothing to walk to in the evening the way there is from Taikoo Li. Forbes Travel Guide lists the hotel but I could not confirm a current Five-Star rating.
Location. Qingyang District, on Shuncheng Avenue beside Tianfu Square and the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum; two metro lines meet underneath.
