70 rooms, suites and villas on Yangcheng Lake in Xiangcheng district, north of Suzhou, completed in 2024. Every unit has its own hot-spring soaking pool on the terrace, the buildings follow Suzhou courtyard-house proportions, and some guests arrive at their villa by boat. A sister Garrya hotel of 210 rooms shares the complex.
The best resort stay in the Suzhou area and the highest guest-rated hotel in the city. It gives you something Suzhou's city hotels cannot: a private hot-spring pool, water on three sides and a boat arrival, in the lake the local hairy crabs come from. It is also the newest serious property in the area.

Guests say it is overpriced for what it is, and service consistency is uneven, in a small review sample. The published unit count is a mess: the hotel says 70, one booking site says 107, and a venue listing says 282, which is the Banyan Tree plus the 210-room Garrya next door, so check what you are booking. It holds no Michelin Keys. It is 30-40 minutes from the old city with nothing in walking distance, so it works as an add-on rather than a base, and the complex is built new rather than converted, so the Suzhou vernacular is a style choice.
