What to order

Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

  • Pork bian shi soup (扁食汤)
  • Peanut-sauce blanched noodles (花生酱拌面)
  • Hand-shredded pork with tendon (手撕肉)

What it actually tastes like

Peanut-sauce noodles are a core item, so peanut is in the shop; peanut-allergic diners should treat it as unsafe. Bian shi wrappers vary: some are slippery starch skins, which may surprise visitors.

Allergens in this kitchen

peanutgluten/wheatsoy

This is the kitchen, not one dish. Woks, fryers, blanching water and utensils are shared in almost every Chinese restaurant, so for a serious allergy treat the whole premises as the unit rather than ordering around it.
