What to order

Point at the Chinese. Staff will understand it even where the menu has no English at all.

  • Oyster omelette (海蛎煎)
  • Braised pork rice (卤肉饭)
  • Shrimp ball soup (虾丸汤)

What it actually tastes like

Oyster omelette is bound with sweet-potato starch, so the texture is gluey and soft, not crisp like a Western omelette. Usually served with a sweet-chilli sauce. Contains egg and oyster.

Allergens in this kitchen

eggshellfish

This is the kitchen, not one dish. Woks, fryers, blanching water and utensils are shared in almost every Chinese restaurant, so for a serious allergy treat the whole premises as the unit rather than ordering around it.
